Can't wait to talk to you all next.

Now you're on mute.

I know.

I don't know what's going on with this

stupid thing.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.

Sunday, Sunday,

Sunday night CrossFit talk.

There we go.

We got it.

We're getting up and Fergie's getting

down.

Um,

Yeah.

Wow.

I was just telling Jamie,

been a wild week.

My mom came in, Corey came home.

Everybody's traveling everywhere trying to

do, you know,

Corey only has like five days to see

everybody and get her to everybody so she

can see them.

And then my mom's flying back with her

to Montana and spending a week with her

out there.

So that's going to be cool for them.

That's awesome.

She's going to take my mom up to

Glacier National Park and check all that

out.

There's my cousin.

This is your cousin?

Happy Mother's Day, Jamie.

Happy Mother's Day to you, Leah.

Does Leah do CrossFit?

Leah does do CrossFit.

Leah works out at Paradigm CrossFit,

which is Seth's

The, um, Cairo who works on Billy.

Yep.

That is his gym.

They actually offered, well, she offered,

I guess I didn't actually speak with Seth,

but they had offered me to come over

there to grand Rapids area and do the

semifinals there,

but they didn't have anyone doing them.

And I didn't want to,

I didn't want to, you know,

inconvenience them for myself.

Denise Moore,

two weeks after punching her ticket to the

CrossFit Games,

finally catching a Sunday Night CrossFit

talk.

Fergie,

weekly Fergie question this week for

Carolyn.

Carolyn,

would you rather fly halfway around the

world for your third week of competition

or have your heater break in the dead

of a Canadian winter?

What's a heater break?

your heater, like the heater.

Yeah.

The heat in your house, in your house.

Oh, my heater break.

I thought I was thinking of like,

like a winter break and I was like

heater break, like my summer break,

like hot summer.

Sorry.

I've read that.

I was thinking I was on my vacation,

my summer vacation right now.

Um,

I think I would do a third competition

if I could.

I figured this layer up week.

You could always layer up.

The older I get the less tolerant I

am of cold.

I'm not very good like tolerating cold or

heat so

I'm just not good with temperatures.

Certainly not heat though.

I don't do very well that.

I don't like heat either.

So, um, with my hot flashes,

I don't mind the cold.

I hear that a lot from women and

I,

that I guess I have a while for

that still.

Cause I, I cannot tolerate the cold.

I'm cold all the time.

Yeah.

That happened about.

For my wife.

Yeah, those were fun years.

Just saying.

Thermostat couldn't be set to any

temperature that was suitable.

At least Jamie can visit her family on

winter.

Happy Sunday, Glasgow family.

Denise says, just wait.

Paramenopause and menopause suck.

That's what I hear.

So before we dive into all the CrossFit

stuff,

have you guys seen the movie Ordinary

Angels?

No.

Nope.

I don't even think I've heard of it.

So it's Hilary Swank and it is Reacher.

It is a phenomenal movie.

We accidentally stumbled on it last night.

It's a true story.

It is so good.

So family friendly.

So good.

So good.

Highly, highly recommend.

Okay.

Yeah, write that one down.

So...

I'm like in playoff season.

I don't have time to watch any movies.

You got basketball playoffs.

You got WNBA that's back and NHL playoffs.

I guess baseball's on too.

I'm a Seventy Sixers fan.

So we're not usually here at this point.

And then we've gotten spanked by the

Knicks every game this season series.

So I don't expect us to be here

past today.

And then my Penguins lost in illustrious

fashion in game seven.

my habs are still going yeah i saw

they won the first round i was like

carolyn's gonna be happy it's always good

uh train to olive says go knicks yeah

boo um and the other thing i wanted

to talk about is american gladiators and

jamie and i were texting about this

When it came back,

I knew it was cheesy, right?

But it's always been cheesy.

And so I was okay with it.

But I was really invested this year

because Danny Spiegel is a CrossFitter.

She's a Gladiator.

There were four competitors that were

CrossFitters.

So I was rooting.

I know Jordan Chefs because I have met

her.

I've interviewed her, all that stuff.

Wanted her to do well.

Last minute alternative was Kyle Bernier

from TTT.

And there was Bailey and her last name

is so hard to pronounce.

She was on the Milford team that took

second at the twenty fifteen games.

Is it Miraviglia?

Yes.

Okay.

You are.

You're on top of it.

So she was a contestant on the show.

And I wanted Bailey and Kyle to win

because Jordan got hurt.

And Jordan won her first round but didn't

even get to start round two.

Did she get hurt with one of the

obstacles or events?

They never say.

It was something about her arm shoulder

area.

But in the first round,

the hang tough with the rings,

danny spiegel jumped on her she held with

danny hanging on over her for the entire

time to get five points but anyway it's

rigged the show is rigged i am convinced

now that they rigged it so crossfitters

wouldn't win why do you say that so

bailey made the finals

There was one game that you had to

win to move on to be the final

two.

So three made it to the finals.

One's eliminated in the first game.

It is,

you each have a gladiator on you.

You have to be the first to touch

the middle button.

It's a new one.

It wasn't around in the day.

They put Spiegel on Bailey.

Spiegel is by far the best gladiator.

Like by far watching the whole season,

she is by far the best gladiator.

So they put her on her and she

gets booted and doesn't even get to go

to the finals is by far fitter than

the two women that moved on.

Yeah.

No,

I know this isn't a test of fitness.

I know it's a game show.

I know all that stuff, but it's rigged.

And then Kyle Bernier makes it to the

finals.

He does move on.

Is he a Masters athlete?

He is now.

Yeah,

he's probably just turning thirty-five.

He's been competing since twenty-twelve,

I think.

That doesn't mean anything.

Yeah, but he is.

He has some...

If you look at his profile,

which I sent to Jamie,

he has Masters results.

Okay.

Then, Bernier makes it to the finals.

crushes the guy on every game,

gets to the end, goes up the escalator,

whatever the thing is,

one foot steps a little bit off to

the side,

and they disqualify him completely.

What?

He would have won it completely,

and they disqualified him.

Was there prize money?

A hundred thousand dollars.

Damn, that sucks.

He went from a hundred grand to Zippo.

Yep, that sounds rigged.

It's so, so, so stupid.

So it's basically CrossFit standard?

Checks out.

The whole time I was thinking, like,

we bitch about the penalties in CrossFit.

They are harsh in American Gladiators.

like immediately but the one thing that

definitely like reigned true is danny

spiegel was the best athlete of the

gladiators the rest were muscular or

whatever looked good or whatever she

actually could play every game she's

athletic she's always been one of the most

athletic females in our sport yeah

way she tackles the way she like every

game she did well at and the one

she dominated was when they have to climb

the wall the wall like rock climb and

the gladiator chases you she was so fast

up that wall so fast um

Yeah,

the step off the side penalized another

person too.

Yeah, but that person was like way off,

way off the side.

Kyle was like just a tick off.

Hurricane looked pretty good though.

Her listed weight was heaviest too.

No, it was.

And then they brought in a new gladiator

at the end who was six,

four and a half.

Former college basketball player had put

on,

I'm assuming a lot of muscle and

They had the volleyball player who was

like six foot two, didn't they?

Maybe.

But Danny was the heaviest until this girl

came and she was just a shy under

two hundred pounds.

Oh, geez.

Yeah.

So it was.

At the end,

I just felt cheated that I invested any

time in this at all.

So but I had to get that off

my chest.

was something my mom enjoyed watching so

we watched it together all weekend and i

was rooting for bailey she was rooting for

somebody else i was pissed she was happy

and uh and her girl ended up winning

the whole damn thing so there it is

uh what show was margot alvarez on that

was titan games the one thing that i

found out in titan games is they didn't

get to keep the trophy

They got to keep nothing from the show.

No outfits, nothing.

That was told to me by Matt Chan.

And I hope at least the winners of

Gladiators got to keep the trophy.

I hope.

Yeah.

I miss the old AD steroids from the

OG Gladiators.

uh crossfit i think the new gladiators are

using some stuff yeah some of them have

been on reality shows and they were much

smaller than just saying yeah um uh they

are specific about the angles they filmed

danny from yeah you're probably right um

Well, I'm on episode six, I think,

but it doesn't look like I need to

watch the rest.

Sorry, Larry.

I will say, after the first round,

they changed all the games,

most of the games,

and I like the versions they changed to

better than what the original ones were.

Okay.

Yeah,

I don't think I even made it to

episode two.

I was just, like, so annoyed.

Like,

I don't remember them showing the crowd

that much in...

The original version.

They did.

I don't know.

I guess I blocked that part out.

Did they bring back the Nerf gun one?

They did not.

That was the best one.

I like that one.

Yeah, they did not bring that one back.

I love that one too.

So anyway, that's that.

We can move on to actual sport now.

Wasn't Larry Zonka an announcer too?

Yes, he was.

Mike Adamly and Larry Zonka.

The Miz leaves a little bit to be

desired.

Agree.

Are you handing out any new stickers at

Syndicate?

I have stickers.

I'll be at Syndicate.

If you want some, I got some.

Um, okay.

So this weekend we had age group

semifinals in affiliate version.

Carolyn already punched her ticket.

We're going to talk about that in a

little bit, but for now, Jamie,

you took on the gauntlet of the workouts

that were provided this weekend.

First of all, how, how were the workouts?

Um,

They're fine.

It felt like you were kind of repeating

quarterfinals again.

It really did.

Like you're warming up and you're like,

I've done all this.

Like we went to the same affiliate and

the owners came and watched and they

watched me do one of the workouts.

And I was like,

this literally is the same workout you

watched me do a month and a half

ago.

Like I feel bad.

But yeah, this one was different.

The rest I felt like literally just were

repeating.

I mean, this was a decent workout.

You had to go hard enough to give

yourself some time to do the double under

and handstand walk.

Decent workout there.

Workout three, the Jackie one.

Again,

you already did the thousand meter row.

We already... I don't know.

It was...

whatever this one's a decent test of

fitness can you hold on for the second

round this one was just weird um i

think this one was a big miss by

them the amount of ties that are gonna

be it wasn't it was it should have

just gone heavier just just do the lot

like make them do the full ladder like

the amount of people just finishing the

ladder tripping over their barbell then

just trying to quickly do one minute of

unbroken power cleans is just not the

right test

I feel like the deadlift test,

the double under deadlift test was heavy

enough.

Sure.

It didn't get quite this heavy,

but heavy enough that like you either were

strong enough to hold onto it unbroken or

not.

And like that probably ranked the

leaderboard where it should have been.

That workout was a good enough test that

I don't think they needed to do that

again.

I just think it was a miss.

The weights were not heavy enough for

either division.

Even the five hundred,

so many guys are pulling that.

A lot of girls are going to hit

the three fifteen.

Just make it go high.

Make it go to four something for the

girls.

If you can't make it,

you can maybe do extra reps or max.

I don't know, but it wasn't it.

What was the point of the power clean?

There was no point.

For the tiebreak.

No, I get that.

But like the amount of ties that we'll

see on the tiebreaker.

Probably.

I hope that they are.

That's the one where I think they need

to be critical on the judging.

Most people know that cleans are like one

of my biggest peeves in the sport and

elbows not thrown on the cleans.

And I think this is just asking for

no reps.

I've already seen like people posting

videos of their cleans on Facebook or on

Instagram.

And I'm like, yeah, those are no reps.

I mean, this one we already did.

Can't stand push-up seems a little

redundant here.

This would have been great with

toe-to-bar.

Yeah,

I think this one should have been toaster

bars.

Because that would have made the grip

better.

And then just a higher number of toaster

bars.

So it still becomes very lungy.

Yeah, it's a lot of lunging.

Jeremy says Jamie is greater than Corey.

Then he tried his hand at workout one

yesterday.

Stung a little, but fun.

yeah one was tough i have not squat

snatched maybe three or four times since

my hip surgery and my shoulders what's

been bothering me i mean maybe getting

down into that squat quickly i just can't

get in good position so that one was

really rough for me but did the time

domains feel redundant from open quarters

legends uh

well no there wasn't anything like quite

as quick as that sandbag chest of our

one at legends that was like super duper

short but yes otherwise i feel like they

were quarters well the deadlift one is

technically ten minutes but it's for like

a lot of people but it's not really

it's just an email yeah not really that's

a short one i

I think they did a good job testing

the deadlift capacity in the quarters.

Like,

I think that was the way to do

it with the double unders.

Are you strong enough to hold onto it?

I'm broken at the end.

I don't think they needed that.

I think that,

I think they needed a completely different

test for, for workout for.

Larry Young says,

I like them better than quarters,

even like the strength test.

But training think tank said the deadlift

was off because a guy who could deadlift

six fifty had no advantage over a guy

with a five fifty max.

I don't... Okay, fine.

That's probably true.

But do we need a guy that can

deadlift six-fifty and the game's over a

guy who can deadlift five-hundred?

For instance, if there's a person who...

If that five-hundred deadlifter guy beat

the six-fifty pound deadlift guy in

quarters... I mean...

That's really your fitness test.

Like...

What if you took out the power cleans

and you made it a moderate shoulder to

overhead?

And then you take out the handstand

push-ups and you put that toes to bars?

Because then you would test the deadlift

to a certain weight,

which I think should be heavier.

And then the tiebreaker,

you're testing another type of strength,

which is like a shoulder to overhead.

I guess you have thrusters,

so I guess not.

But yeah, something.

Yeah, you got thrusters.

You already got squat snatch.

I feel like... I mean, to be fair,

I don't feel like...

I feel like it should have been heavier.

I don't know.

I almost think the cleans should have been

heavier.

Like it was too light,

like a ninety five one third.

Because it makes people like that.

They're a muscle clean.

But not really.

Yeah.

Get their elbows through.

Yeah.

It wasn't it wasn't heavy enough.

And then it just becomes like a range

of motion.

Did you trip over the barbell?

Where did you put your secondary barbell?

How fast did you get to it?

How fast did you even lift your deadlift

on the minute?

Did you bend over towards your barbell too

early on the nine-minute mark?

A lot of little false starts can matter.

I don't know.

I think that one was a miss.

Mark Phillips, for some,

it was a barbell cycling workout big miss.

He also said something about lots of bent

knees.

Yeah.

That happens with deadlift all the time.

deadlift or the clean they're they're not

finishing the clean they don't lock out

their knees i saw a lot of that

which one was your favorite to do this

weekend um probably the shuttle burpee

back jump over i mean i like i

like the lunge one because i like lunging

and i like handstand push-ups

I don't know that I'd say it was

my favorite though.

It's just like,

it's just the two movements.

At least there was like something to the,

you know,

you did one thing and another thing.

So there's more to it.

I don't know.

I did a lot of judging this weekend.

Did you?

Yeah.

But I felt the responsibility to help

anyone that needed because I know how it

feels to need a judge.

And I was like,

I can be available anytime, anywhere.

Let me know.

Just because I didn't have to do them

this weekend.

So it was my turn to give back.

Yeah, that's awesome.

That's awesome.

So...

Jamie, you've been doing this for a while.

Do you think you're in a good position

moving forward?

I don't know.

I think it depends on like who's talking

to who and who's getting,

I don't have very much information.

I did speak with Jen a little bit.

She tested a couple of them.

Um,

And then I've spoken with Lori Winkleman,

also not my age bracket.

Um,

so I've had two people that I've talked

to other than that,

I have like zero information.

So it's like, I have no idea.

I mean,

I'm okay with four of the workouts.

One of them I'm not too keen on.

Um, but I never have any clue.

Like, I mean,

fifteen is definitely tougher than thirty.

I would feel confident in.

I'm always injured, Ken.

It's fine.

How many people have signed up in your

division?

How many pages are you guys at?

I don't know.

I just opened the app to put in

my scores.

You can't see that.

I'd have to get online and see how

many pages there are.

I'm going to go look.

I don't know though.

Like that is, that's what's really hard.

Like online is a mind fuck.

Like you,

you have no clue unless you have people

that you can,

I mean like it would have been nice

if Carolyn was doing some of the workouts

and could have given me some, some idea.

I don't know.

Should have asked.

I would have done them for you.

Yeah.

I did not feel good on Thursday and

Friday at all.

Like,

I don't know if I was getting sick

or what was going on.

I did a couple of the workouts,

totally messed up the deadlift workout.

We had the bar bars loaded wrong the

whole time.

So essentially I was starting from scratch

yesterday.

Like I did three workouts yesterday and

two today.

So I have one question for Carolyn and

then I'm going to come back to that.

Denise wanted to know,

did it feel weird not to compete in

the online semifinal this weekend?

I felt like I was late for a

test at school every morning.

It felt weird.

It felt like nice, to be honest,

to not have any pressure,

to not just to be able to help

people and judge.

But it did feel weird that I didn't

have to do it.

I was like, man,

do I just sign up and do them?

Just ruin people's leaderboard.

Affect some of the workers.

I was like, okay, these are nice tests.

I like them.

There's none of them that I don't like.

Mark says it looks like four full pages

of forty to forty-four.

So two hundred.

So Jamie, you said...

messed up weights oh my god do we

do we want that story yes i would

start it at like an idiot so only

got to because you just you didn't put

the lives got it so so you finished

that workout with the wrong weights yeah

like you went all the way through the

max power yeah oh yeah

Do you think that helped you the next

day when you did it again?

Or did it hurt you?

I don't know.

That's a good question.

I guess I kind of knew what to

expect on cleans.

Yeah, I don't know.

So,

how hard were you kicking yourself then

right after you did it?

A little bit.

I felt pretty good for that workout.

Like I said, like that was,

so that was Friday and I was not

like crap on Thursday, Friday.

I was like, I don't know,

maybe starting to feel better,

but I wasn't feeling great.

I had done the rope climb workout and

like kind of imploded.

And then after that, I was like,

Well, I feel like I'm warm.

I'm going to try the deadlift.

And that I felt fine for.

I mean,

I guess there's no real cardio capacity

there.

So I don't know.

But I feel like I felt way better

yesterday.

Whatever I had finally passed through me,

I guess.

I could breathe.

My lungs...

I was getting blood flow to my

extremities.

I felt like my arms were not recovering.

I was not getting blood out to my

extremities.

CrossFit says Jamie and Fi are the same

injured.

So then the last kind of kerfuffle of

the weekend with you was because you

cannot work out in your home gym.

You and you have to go to somewhere

else.

You had to bring your own climbing rope.

And your ceilings aren't that high.

So you actually went badass mama and did

the workout with shorty ropes.

Yeah, it's not super short.

Don't get me wrong.

It's just it wasn't touching the ground.

It's like two feet off the ground.

So, yeah,

it is like jumping up and which makes

the tail wave around a little more.

But yeah.

which one of the five is your worst

one the rope climb see like i think

that's the least damage if i think that

one is not as dan like damaged because

i feel like more people would struggle

with that one than a lower skilled barrier

to entry workout like

The deadlift or the double under one.

As soon as there's a higher skill,

if that's your weakness,

it normally doesn't crush you as much as

you think it could if it was another

one.

That's just my observation.

We'll see.

I feel like I'm great at rope climbs.

I just can't squat snatch right now.

How did I find...

I got in the car to drive home

and I was like,

just that felt too easy.

Like I was, I mean,

I wasn't really unsure that I can even

pull three, fifteen.

I've only ever done it once in my

life.

And then,

and Jim was in the car and he's

like, well, and like,

so Jim like kind of knew the whole

time,

but never spoke up while he's judging.

So he's like, well, was it?

And then I'm like,

I'm doing the plate math and I'm like,

damn it.

Yeah.

I was like, yeah,

it was like the whole time.

That must be so frustrating,

especially cause it's not your gym.

You can't just go back quickly another

day.

Like you have to go and schedule another

time to do it.

Are you redoing any?

No, I, so I did the,

I did three yesterday and two today.

I'm that's it.

I'm done.

What was, what order did you go?

So if you just take what I did,

the three yesterday, I went shuttle,

deadlift, handstand, push-up one.

Which I feel like those were totally

doable in one day.

I feel like that could have been a

comp day easy.

It was fine.

And then I did Jackie when I got

to the gym today.

And then like an hour and a half

later, I did the rope climb to finish.

So you did your worst one last?

Yes.

And you went with your strongest workout

first to try to get as high as

possible?

I'm trying to understand your order of

events because if your worst one that you

knew was number one,

which is the rope climb one,

I personally would do that first.

Well, I did it second, technically.

The snatch one?

Yeah, I had done it on Friday.

Oh, okay.

And the redo was today.

Correct.

Okay.

Sherry asked, Jamie,

did you do better or worse redoing with

the ten plus pounds?

On the cleans, I think, maybe.

On the deadlift clean?

Or do you not want to say?

Did you get more cleans or less cleans?

I got more cleans.

There you go.

That's good.

Good.

Uh, two pulling back to back.

Ouch.

So I do, I will say,

I think I could have done better at

the rope climb one.

I'll maybe I'll kick myself for that,

but I'm not going back tomorrow.

I'm not.

I'm not going, you know,

inconveniencing the gym,

and I need to get Ronica in gym

for judges.

Like, I'm not doing that.

It is what it is.

If I miss again,

it's just not meant to be.

Like, I didn't outlunge Carly,

and if this wasn't enough,

it is what it is.

Lots of come on gyms and oof gyms.

Gotta speak up, dude.

Come on.

Like, just...

He did really good judging to, uh,

yesterday though.

Like he's like yelling each way.

He's like two seventy-five, you know,

to the camera.

He's yelling.

We got it now.

He was not going to make the mistake.

Got it.

Um, where do you feel like your,

do you feel like your goals have changed?

Like a few months ago,

you weren't even thinking that you were

going to do the semifinals.

And here you are, you know,

analyzing and fighting to try to get in

that top fifteen, like because, you know,

you have a legit shot.

Like as the workouts came out,

as you're as you're doing them this

weekend,

like how was your mentality in terms of.

So I will say,

I told Scott this because he kept saying

that too.

I personally don't think I ever thought I

wasn't going to be able to do them.

Programming depends.

Like, I mean,

I suppose if there would have been a

hundred and twenty-five pound overhead

squat or hundred and fifty-five pound

snatches, I would have been like,

this isn't worth signing up.

Like,

if it would have been like a couple

years ago with the row.

Shuttles and the snatch.

Yeah, I think it was just row snatch.

I think they were shuttles, I thought.

I don't know.

Um,

if there would have been another workout

like that, I would have been like,

I don't think this is worth it.

Like, I, I just, I can't snatch that.

Um, and, and like,

unless there was four absolute wheelhouse

workouts with me for the other four and

like, you know, I don't know, maybe,

maybe I would have had to look at

him and like, Oh,

I can try and see if that one

knocks me out.

I don't,

I always knew I would be able to

do the Open regardless and figured I'd get

through the quarterfinals.

And then it was always going to be,

let's see what the workouts are for semis

and see if I can do them.

To be fair,

I don't think these are great workouts for

me.

Every single workout,

everything that I am good at is paired

with something I'm terrible at.

Okay,

what were you bad at in number two

with the burpee, box jump over,

shuttle runs, double unders,

and handstand walk?

So shuttling has not been good for me.

I haven't really been able to do a

lot of it.

Pivoting.

And then even box jump overs has been

really rough on my knee.

And I'm not fast on my hands at

all.

I...

Like I will get beat there.

If it's like truly a handstand walk speed

test, I will get beat.

I'm not fast on my hands,

but I can walk pretty long distances.

And if there's enough stuff,

I can hang in there.

Cause I feel like that one on paper,

I would think that you're good at the

double Jackie.

Like you're strong on the row.

You have great like chest of bars.

I know that you can thruster that way.

It's not that heavy and you have good

like capacity there.

So like to me,

those two workouts out of the five,

I already know you should get very high

scores there,

regardless of what your snatch is.

Like I know that those would be good.

the deadlift is probably a best case

scenario for you in terms of like,

it could have been a heavy snatch.

It could have been, you know,

like scenario almost.

It was,

if there's going to be a strength test,

that was probably the best thing that

could have come up.

And they didn't go as heavy as they

could have, which also saves you.

Yeah, for sure.

And you know,

you can power clean better than, you know,

I mean,

you probably are going to go with good

technique and honest reps,

which might be at the detriment of your

score sometimes.

Yep.

Um,

Can we get real real here though for

a second?

Sure.

Cause, uh,

Jamie and I had a text conversation this

weekend and I asked her like, why?

Cause after the,

like we were talking and she was not

in a good headspace.

And I'm like,

I thought this was like a bonus year.

You had the hip surgery.

This was just about like getting back and

just seeing how it went.

And she basically said that she lied to

us, Carolyn.

All along,

she thought she would be able to do

all this stuff.

She was just telling us that.

I didn't want anyone to have expectations

of me.

It takes the pressure off of you.

I know, but we're past all that now.

And now you're actually competing.

Yeah,

I think it's partially because I told you

this.

When Dave was like, it's the twentieth.

If there's ever games you're going to be

at,

this is the games you want to be

at.

We're coming back together.

Although, the more I hear things about it,

I'm like, are we really?

Originally, that was the whole thing.

I was like, that's all I ever wanted.

I didn't make it in twenty-three to

Madison,

and I was pissed off because I went

to ten.

Every year, shit changes on me.

And I miss out on the good thing.

And

So I'm like,

I really want to make this one if

we're going to all be together back for

the twentieth anniversary.

So that's what I told my husband.

I was like,

I just want to make it.

Like,

I don't care if I get last at

the games.

Of course,

that'll change if I freaking make it.

But I was like,

I just want to make it.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I should have known when she said it

because I've been around her long enough

in the last few years.

Whenever she laces up the nanos,

it's all in.

There's never a half-assed approach to

anything Jamie does.

And so when she came to me with

the bad headspace the other night and I

was trying to find ways to get her

perspective just to pivot,

I realized that she was full on in

to try to make this games.

And it really,

she's saying if there was a heavy snatch,

she still would have tried to kill the

other events to outdo the snatch.

I probably would have.

I mean,

if there was like three bad workouts,

I would have been like,

I'm not signing up.

I'm just going to hurt myself or be

really frustrated with the results.

But yeah, I don't know.

Yeah.

So we'll see where these should go.

I don't know.

I literally have no clue.

I could be, like I said,

it could be thirtieth or first.

That's not true.

No, I will not be first.

I can tell you that.

I didn't say first.

I said that you are not going to

settle for thirtieth.

So what I want to go to now

is public votes on the videos are during

this part of the season.

Are you happy about that or worried about

that?

I mean, I, I mean,

I feel like I move well.

So like, I'm not super worried about mine.

I do feel like people just click review

regardless.

I like, I hope,

I hope they've changed the format of

reviewing that.

There's like a,

you either put in a timestamp or what,

like,

know at minute three didn't lock out their

knees with the elbows through um or

whatever it is like i hope there's a

little more to it rather than just

clicking needs review i think you actually

have to leave comments that do you think

your name should be attached to your vote

yeah i don't think that's a bad idea

at all i agree

Because a lot of times, like last year,

people just liked every top person,

almost in every division.

And a lot of times,

it's like your competitors that just want

your videos reviewed and whatnot.

But I'd like to see the name sometimes

attached to it.

Do these people know that's what's

happening?

It's review and why?

I believe I was told that by Andrew

Sten.

Okay.

I'm going off my memory,

which I've had a lot going on this

week, so...

I think,

I believe that is what I was told.

And he's review with reason.

I think that's a good change.

Like that's a step in the right direction.

Yeah,

I think if you have to give a

reason, then...

Well,

it also helps them on the other side

to flag whatever they're looking for to

make the process faster.

Because just being flagged,

that doesn't help them.

They have to watch the whole video.

But it can be something very quick,

like equipment off.

It was also discovered this week.

I think I found out from Dave Hardy.

earlier in the week that magic city did

not test just like legends.

And there will be no testing for age

group athletes before the games.

Frustrating for sure.

Not surprised.

I was at Legends before the last event

and then I'm going towards the crowd and

I go,

do we have to bring our IDs?

Because normally before the last event,

especially the final heat,

you have to bring your IDs.

And they're like, no,

we're not testing the masters.

I'm like, you want my ID?

You want my ID?

You want...

Come on, test us.

And they're like, no, we're not testing.

Only the top or only four individuals on

each, like four men, four women, I think.

And I was like, come on.

It's like, really?

Test, test, test.

What makes me nervous is those at French

and those at LATAM,

and Torian are like, hey,

I get an extra four weeks on my

cycle.

So it's, gosh, it just sucks.

It sucks that I just don't,

I don't even know if there's a solution.

Well,

the solution is definitely not in-person

semis, this many spots.

set up this way this is this is

not the solution for masters you don't

like um having online or in-person semis

no this is very poorly set up like

at all you don't want any especially for

three especially for three spots in like

latam and torian like who the there that's

too many

I think it was poorly executed.

I think it's a great concept and a

great idea,

but I think they just threw it all

at the wall and said,

you guys wanted this,

here is all of it, instead of saying,

let's be strategic about this and come up

with a plan.

i love the idea i want masters to

be in person but i've said it a

million times i think it should just be

to until they figure it out and then

when they can figure something out then

expand it maybe a little bit i like

that idea i think that's yeah great great

and like two heats

Yeah, way too many people.

That's my other big, like,

you're just supporting these comps off the

backs of masters at this point to the

point where, like,

it's not beneficial for viewers to watch.

You're saturating the leaderboard with

people who, like, aren't.

Like, you don't – I mean,

I think even, like,

on – was it on the girls on

Filter?

They were talking about that.

Like,

you want to make sure the right people

are signing up and are there so that

there's people to middle the leaderboard.

And when you start inviting,

like – and no offense to any of

my competitors who got the chance to go

and were in, like,

the three hundreds and got an invite.

Like, I'm sure it was a great experience,

but it does,

like –

There's like,

they just need to only have people there

and they use the final result.

And I think the other thing is if

you're going to do in person,

then you have to minimize the,

the in affiliate number,

or you might as well not do in

person because so many people took the

option of an affiliate.

Right.

And it left us with a weak field

in all of the other in-person.

Like I could have easily just done the

in-affiliate.

I just wanted to do a competition.

Like my goal is to do a competition

before NorCal about a month away from each

other and just get a competition in.

And then I decided to do WFP and

I had already registered.

And I was like, okay,

I guess I'm doing a bunch of comps

right now.

But like...

I don't know if I do the,

I mean, I don't know.

I'll probably do an in-person semi next

year if it's available.

I mean,

I think the top people in the leaderboard

need to do the in-person semis.

I think, like, I don't, as it stands,

I don't think we will have the top

thirty fittest masters.

We don't have the top thirty athletes in

the individual.

Yeah, I agree.

But I think it'll be even more blatant.

We have never gotten the top thirty.

Ever.

It'll be better with opening up.

I mean,

you got the girls out of Copa Sur.

It's going to be better than it's been

in the past, but yes.

I mean, it's still an issue,

and it's going to be even more...

There's going to be some very good

individuals left off this year that had

one semifinal,

then they were looking to do the online,

and then there's a bunch of people looking

to do the online,

and there's only seven spots.

Right?

Yeah.

The thing is, like,

we didn't have the option.

So, okay, again, it's a problem because,

like,

Jason's able to call French Throwdown and

be like, hey,

can I come to French Throwdown?

And, of course, they're going to let him.

I didn't get the option to call Magic

City and be like, hey,

I just missed out by one spot.

Can I come there and get in?

Which I feel like that's what needed to

happen.

That's how you get the best people to

the games.

That Hopper thing is...

I'm sure the people there are pissed

because you're expecting...

There was not supposed to be any invites.

Then they invited Roman,

but then they replaced that with, I guess,

technically Hopper.

They had told all these Europeans, no,

you have to do the online qualifier or...

you do like from the quarterfinals,

the top Europeans only get invited and

that's based off of their quarterfinals.

So then just getting a special invite is,

yeah, I don't know.

I don't like that.

I would hate that.

Being strategic about my season.

And I said, okay,

my best shot is French.

And then all of a sudden, last minute,

you let the fittest man on earth in.

You just took away one of the spots.

Hypothetically.

I mean, anything can happen in sports,

but.

I know.

And people will be like, oh,

we'll get fitter to beat him.

But it just is.

You have these rules and these people plan

their seasons off of that qualifier and

that rule.

And then it got changed.

Yep.

Yep.

yep um like it's not it's not their

fault that he didn't plan for that uh

last year france got hosed by big name

wfp pullouts though so they're gonna take

any big name they can get us of

course i mean like it's hard to say

no to the champ and then the thing

that helped him was that roman was their

invite and then roman qualified

So if they had already pissed off people,

replace it with another one that's going

to piss off people anyways.

So, I mean, it's the same thing.

Whether it's Jason or Roman,

they both didn't do the online qualifier.

There you are.

There you are.

French is on our list,

but before we jump to... Zach,

MP Fit Co.

Zach Gibbon.

I did see that you also got fourth,

Zach.

I...

I felt your pain.

Missed you.

I would have liked to have been there.

I probably would have scheduled you to go

to that one.

I didn't.

I did.

I did.

I'll have to read out to you, Zach,

and see how an affiliate is going for

you.

So what I wanted to do is ask

Carolyn,

because she hasn't been here in two weeks,

is what your experience was like at WFP.

And your experience at legends,

you've had a big two weeks.

And then I've got some follow-up

questions.

Experience at legends.

Um, it was fun.

Yeah.

I mean, short five workouts,

body felt fine.

Didn't feel too beat up from it.

Um,

I felt like the volume wasn't super high

on the weekend.

Those stepper machines are horrible,

especially the ski.

That was like a damper.

Yeah.

Um, I couldn't get that thing going.

But really that workout I felt played on

the double-enders.

A hundred percent.

Like much more than the machines.

To me, it was a double-ender workout.

I mean,

it's always going to be a double-ender

workout for me, but yeah, that was fine.

It was like,

it was weird for me to do the

master's division and then be able to talk

to some of my competitors that are

normally in the elite division and tell

them how the workout was.

Yeah.

Um,

because I had a lot of like conversations

with a couple of the athletes that were

doing the workouts after me.

So it was just like a new position

that I could be in because they were

asking me how it was.

And I could literally tell them every

strategy or pace or whatever,

because they're not competing against me

that weekend.

So that was like an interesting, um,

twist to it.

And yeah,

I was just happy to punch my ticket.

Denise wants to know how you felt about

Lex beating you on the workout one.

Her big goal of the weekend was to

beat me in one workout.

And she knew that that was the one

that she could beat me on.

And then she beat me by a second.

She walked so fast over to my side

to see that sheet and to look at

my score and notice that she was one

second faster.

And like literally within like two seconds

of finishing the workout, she's like,

I got faster than you by a second.

I can't believe it was that close.

One second.

So it was funny.

So she had a big crew that were

like supporting her.

So yeah, it was fun.

Yeah.

But like,

I knew that I could lose to her

on that one.

Actually,

we were the first two to the skipping

rope of that workout.

So I looked over and I was like,

damn, it's me versus you right now.

So you punch your ticket for the age

group at Legends.

Then a week later,

you fly halfway around the world.

I go back to work.

I went to work and worked for a

few days.

And then Wednesday, I left.

Like most people,

some people left from like San Diego to

London.

Yeah.

I didn't get there until Thursday,

like the day before competition,

because I'm working the Wednesday because

I could not miss all those days back

to back.

So I got in Thursday,

registered and then competed the following

day.

I didn't feel like jet lag.

I felt like I stayed up well on

the Thursday to try to sleep well.

at a somewhat decent time.

Um, the, I like the WFP a lot.

I thought that they treated the athletes

very, very well.

I love the production.

Um, the broadcast was great.

Uh, the events were good events.

Um,

there was like a lot of time between

the events to recover, um,

They had an athlete area.

They had food for us.

They had free massage.

A lot of people in the background doing

massage therapy, physio,

all that for free.

At Legends,

it was really expensive to just get taped

and just anything.

And here, you were just taken care of.

That's awesome.

yeah, the workouts are great.

People, the athletes are awesome.

Um,

it was nice to compete with the

individuals and just see where I'm at

because I had just competed with the

masters.

And then, so sometimes it was like, okay,

you need to step it up because this

isn't no offense, but like,

this isn't the masters you need.

Like these girls are good.

Like these, these girls are faster.

These girls are stronger,

like in every way.

And a lot of times like,

like just fitter.

Um,

Did you adjust your pace?

Did you adjust your pace after doing an

event or two when you realized they were

faster?

Like the first round of the first workout,

I was the slowest on the field.

And I was like, Oh crap, you're not,

you're not going at a good pace right

now.

Like you need to,

you need to step it up.

Um,

and then I slowly was tripping away at

that work.

It was like the Ryan overhead squat toast

bar,

but I was the last one of the

first heat that like I was the first

heat that went.

Yep.

Yep.

So like I was probably the slowest and

I had no business being the slowest and

I

Right away after the first round,

I was like, okay,

you can't be doing this.

You did gain a lot.

You need to step up your game a

little bit.

Overall, I was happy.

There wasn't as many people as I expected.

I know that it was a holiday weekend

there.

Um, so that doesn't help them.

It was in an area that's really hard

to get to.

Like it was really annoying how far away

from the airport it was.

It was like almost an hour and a

bit from the airport.

So it's just not easy for people to

get there.

Um,

then it was changed locations in the last

couple months i don't know how much they

could have done because i expected more

from like the european crowd i guess um

but yeah no overall great experience

looking forward to trying to qualify again

for the second tour which is in indiana

so i've already signed up for that um

But yeah, no, over the weekend,

I was pretty happy with most of the

workouts.

I felt like I should have done much,

much.

I was really disappointed with the

dumbbell thruster workout.

On paper,

I thought that should have been an easy

top twenty for me.

And I just didn't have any legs under

me.

I don't know.

I had no second gear.

I was hunched over.

Um,

I don't feel like I was jet lagged

like at all.

Like,

I just don't know why I felt just,

just blah and that workout.

Cause I'm like, okay,

I'm great at burpee box jump overs row.

I'm fine.

I'm bad at skiing,

but everything else was good for me.

And I was like a thirty six place

and I was like, oh, this sucks.

But also the field is very good.

Um,

that one i wasn't as happy with my

performance with and probably this ring

muscle up one i went on broken on

the whole thing uh which not a lot

of people did i just think i walked

too slow with the sandbag i jogged too

slow to the sandbag so those transitions

just added up because i felt like that

could have been a higher finish for me

but i ended on a high note with

the you did right

So I have to ask you about that.

So the highlight of the weekend for me

is you hit yourself in the nose with

your barbell.

There is blood coming down apparently.

And you finish the workout unbroken

regardless.

I think you said in your post-event

interview that that happened on the second

round of

So you had another full round to complete.

It happened on the very first rep of

the second round.

So I went from my power,

my muscle snatches.

And I think that's what cost me a

few seconds.

As I was going to do muscle snatches.

And then I,

as soon as I finished my overhead lunge

on the way down,

I like nailed my nose.

And then I'm just kind of like recovering

and just trying to open my eyes and

just because you kind of get a little

bit teary eyes a little bit.

And I went to like a power snatch

too early in the workout and then

continued power snatching the whole way

from there.

But I think if I continued muscle snatches

a little bit longer,

like we were separated by like five

seconds,

I think from like where I finished in

like the first place.

I like Randy, like before the workout,

we did Randy with the online service games

two years ago and I went unbroken there.

And I rewatched my video of that workout,

maybe half hour before I went,

just to remind myself that I can go

unbroken and that yes,

it's short bars and it feels heavier,

but I was like,

but you can do it unbroken.

And you can still do it on broken.

So I just kept telling myself that I'm

like, you can do it on broken.

It's going to be hard going broken.

So like just having done that workout for

the service cup helped me beforehand to

know that I could do it on broken

versus I think a lot of people maybe

haven't done that workout in years and

then just kind of broke and then went

back to it.

Like I knew I wasn't going to break.

And I also,

and I also went and watched my twenty

fifteen, Randy.

So when you.

Did you watch back the WFP broadcast?

Because the announcers...

My sister filmed a lot of it,

so I saw it just from my story.

Yeah,

but the announcers talked about your nose

bleeding, and they were like,

she's a hockey player.

This is nothing for her.

And so it was a really cool highlight

for you in that moment on the broadcast.

If you haven't watched it,

it really came across cool.

There's a lot of talk about the deadlift.

So many people PR there.

Do you have an explanation for the PRs?

No,

I think that's a tie for my PR.

I'm pretty sure.

No,

I know I've pulled up four or five,

maybe like ten years ago.

I literally never I barely even go over

eighty five percent in training.

on any lifts at all times in the

year.

So like I don't,

and I certainly don't deadlift very often

just because I don't need to.

but i don't know but it was crazy

like i was in the stands because i'm

in one of the first heats and i'm

watching all of the deadlifts go and i'm

thinking i crushed the workout i'm like

okay i hit four or five i still

got it i still got my strength and

then i'm like starting to look and i'm

like oh my gosh like you got one

one girl that's got four fifty one girl

at four forty five two at four thirty

five one at four twenty and i'm like

oh my gosh i don't even have a

top ten i don't think

And I'm like, in the past, like,

that would have been an easy top five,

top six.

I think I finished, like, eleventh, and,

like,

a few of us tied at four or

five.

And the tiebreaker was,

what was your previous lift?

So I think, like,

I don't know how many, but, like,

at least a dozen hit over four hundred.

which was just crazy and just a lot

of them hitch their deadlifts i don't know

how to do that technique but it was

nuts to see the the lifts um the

krieger girls were awesome at deadlifting

like their their whole camp their whole

group of athlete was are so good they're

coming

Sherry wants to know, the Krieger girls,

are they just one and the same in

the back?

They just rotate outfits and go out and...

I like them.

They're super nice.

They have a really good group of girls.

They seem to be very close and a

lot of them have different strengths and

weaknesses.

And I always thought about them as engine

and gymnastics.

So when I saw them pull those deadlifts

and like almost every one of them was

incredible on the deadlift, I was like,

They're doing good work over there.

They're crushing it.

Dana, who's a Krieger athlete,

also won the deadlift.

I was staying with her all weekend.

Not a shock.

I knew she was going to win the

deadlift.

We had talked about numbers and stuff

prior.

I didn't think anyone could touch her on

the deadlift.

Yeah.

um amy kringle i did not expect that

from amy kringle at all i did not

know she had that and it looked easy

she was great all weekend dominant

toe-to-toe with laura that was like no

holes no holes all weekend that was a

phenomenal watch

I don't know,

but I think it looked like Laura kind

of tweaked her back on the deadlift.

I saw her look at her back and

then look at someone.

And I think she pulled back on the

Randy workout.

She was making double contact on the way

up and on the way down of the

very first rep.

And you can't do that on the Randy

workout.

And she's so much stronger that she

wouldn't need to do that.

I think she was...

um conserving her back for the rest of

the season i that's just my observation

and i think that she pulled back because

i think she would have been much closer

on that last one um so i think

something happened in the deadlift that

was the first time the norwegians got to

meet dana she's a legend to them that's

cool

Well, they have like she is so strong.

So I'm sure like when they see when

they share scores and they see her

numbers,

it's probably like crazy because Dana is

an Olympic lifter and a power lifter.

So you give her any lift and she's

winning.

Yeah.

And I have a feeling that we're going

to be seeing bench press and back squats

this year with the power lift.

So I'm assuming she'll just clean house.

Good for her.

Unpopular opinion,

but I think Amy is a better champ

than Laura.

Well, one, it's not champ.

And you have to remember that watching the

WFP.

This is a season-long tour.

This is only the first third of the

season.

Have you seen the documentary of Laura

done by,

I think it was done by Red Bull

or Rogue?

Very, very good.

I've heard it.

I've heard it's great.

Mm-hmm.

um so anyway there's there was some there

was some questions in there scott about

whether you and i would be going to

tour stop too because it's near us it's

not in michigan i saw dave's post that

is not in michigan it's at indiana

basically can i pull this comment on my

plan is to go to tour stop too

yeah i would like to as well pc

says you're going to love the tour stop

tour events and i know there's a field

last year that they ran outside on it

was turf i had a request to do

a four-year dash please thank you and that

is my request maybe they've been listening

yeah let's so i put in for media

credentials for tour stop two sweet i've

not heard back okay

Whoops, sorry.

No, I was going to pull up.

Does that mean no jump ropes?

Also could be a reason why the second

one could be good for me.

They got their jump rope in.

Apparently,

PC just approved my credentials.

Okay.

Amazing.

I'm going to be there cheering on.

How far is that from you, Jamie?

I don't.

How far is Indianapolis from us?

Can't be far.

Yeah.

Three hours is my guess.

Two and a half or three.

Jamie, apply.

Oh, I need to apply separate?

Yeah.

I have the link somewhere.

I'll send it to you.

Oh, Nicole says it's four showers.

I don't know that it's that far.

It's two and a half for me.

I think it's on the other side of

Indianapolis.

So maybe two, three.

Yeah, it's like what?

What?

Grand Park or winter?

I don't even know some.

Would you try to do the workouts qualify?

No, they're early July.

Oh, God.

I want some new people in the field.

It helps for the points.

CrossFat wants you to not trust Jim with

the mileage.

Okay.

We ain't trusting Jim with any more

numbers after this weekend.

Just so you know, CrossFat,

Jamie's husband is not Jim.

No.

Jamie's husband is Aaron.

We're good with Aaron on the numbers,

not Jim.

My dad is Jim, but not that Jim.

Right.

I mean, hey,

if they're like last year's Indiana

qualifier workouts, maybe,

because those were good for me.

I would have made it if I would

have weighed the weights.

Get her going, Carolyn.

Come on, Jamie.

Do it, Jamie.

I need to qualify first.

So it's what, thirty...

She says no,

but we know that means yes.

We'll see what the workouts are.

I didn't like the workouts for this first

stop.

Well, look at the bright side.

You're going to qualify for the games this

weekend.

Then you have nothing to do until the

games.

And then WFP two isn't until after the

games.

That's true.

And I like that I don't have school

yet.

I'm actually off at that point in August

because normally I'm back end of August,

but we're starting school late this year,

like September eighth.

So it's perfect time of the year for

me.

This is the first time you've been back

since there's a new CEO at CrossFit.

Any thoughts you want to share?

Well, I don't really know him very well.

I know that he has history with CrossFit.

I don't know how much he's able to

do even as CO as you've talked about

before with private equity stuff.

I don't really know how much that works.

But just to have someone there just seems

like better than nothing.

Yeah.

It doesn't look like we don't have anyone

at the top, right?

So I don't know.

I guess we'll see to be determined.

Like I said,

I don't know how much he can do,

what he's looking to do in terms of

his goals.

I'm open and ready to see the action.

Yeah,

I think I want to see the action,

not the words.

Same.

Yeah.

I also want to see how Brookshire plays

this out.

But it's a good sign to me that

they went with someone not from

necessarily the big corporate CEO world.

And maybe that's a good sign.

Yeah, we need less...

I think we need less C-suite people

in-house taking big paychecks.

I think they need to get rid of

some of that middle management here.

We'll see if he actually lives up to

what Savannah was saying and fires some

people.

I think that's what they need to do.

Yes, plan to get old affiliates back.

I agree.

so my thing is i could say this

is what i wanted i don't know enough

about crossfit hq to make any educated

remark i'd only be echoing somebody else's

opinion because i haven't seen it with my

own eyes so i just have to trust

that he's going to do something great um

hopefully lower the fees from forty five

hundred i would love to affiliate and

that's just

Wait, PC says,

I blame Bruce for getting rid of the

game's elevated media access.

I'm okay with it.

I think there were way too many people

that had backstage access last year,

and it was, in my opinion,

a shit show.

I think that the athletes had too many

people in their faces all the time.

I would forego my enhanced access.

Because it was really hard to get anything

accomplished and be courteous with the

athletes.

The only person that I had an agreement

with prior to the games was Hattie.

It was cool to be able to be

with her during all that stuff.

She knew I was going to be there.

She knew I was going to document all

that stuff.

But it was way,

way too hard to approach athletes.

I tried to catch them in cool down

instead of warm up.

But it just was hard.

And so I'm okay with cutting it.

It should be limited.

These athletes shouldn't have six hundred

cameras in their face.

My opinion.

Because that warm up area last year was

not big.

Just my two cents.

So what's going on French Throwdown this

weekend?

Right?

This weekend?

Can I just address this question?

Yeah.

I feel like there should be just like

a tier of like,

whether it's garage gyms or whatnot in

terms of affiliation.

Like if you just want to fly the

flag, no matter,

even like for your affiliate and you don't

want to use any of the cap programming,

the toolkit, whatever,

you just want to have the CrossFit name.

It's a certain fee.

You want to have these features a little

bit more expensive.

You want to have the whole, whole thing.

It's like,

Yeah,

like could they not do something like

that?

Like a tiered system?

If they did a garage affiliation,

I would affiliate my garage with

Clydesdale.

I'd affiliate my living room.

I would probably affiliate my garage as

well.

But it's been the topic of discussion in

Dave's Week in Review.

I think every week for about six months.

I think they're working out details of

something.

And hopefully it has more forethought than

other things that have been launched.

How much would you pay for a garage

gym?

Well,

I technically have my school affiliate.

Okay.

So I don't know that I would,

I don't even work out in my living

room, but I have my equipment here.

And I think it's a tiered thing.

Like if I do it,

I'm not training anybody out of my gym.

Yeah.

So I just do it for the name

and the support of CrossFit HQ,

like five hundred seven fifty somewhere in

that range.

Yeah.

Yeah.

With that,

you just get to use the name CrossFit

for your affiliate.

You get to do the open there.

Then for a little bit more,

you get cat programming or whatever you

want that they offer.

But HQ ain't that common sense smart.

Seems to be the trend.

We have a new CEO.

You can't

You can't keep carrying over the past over

and over.

When new people come in,

we have to give them the opportunity to

change.

Kind of don't want my garage on an

internet map.

They would not put it.

Yeah,

I don't think that those would go on.

I don't know that my school is on

the affiliate map because you can't charge

people and I don't think that they can

drop in.

I think that there would be a way

that if it's just a garage gym that

it's not showing up as one that people

drop in.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I'd affiliate but still pay for my

CrossFit linchpin program.

Yeah, I think that's fine.

What's the perk?

The perk for me is from just a

media and my business to be able to

have a garage gym called Clydesdale,

I think is cool.

And maybe it doesn't amount to anything

for me other than I feel cool.

That's amazing.

Okay, well,

my garage is twelve thousand square feet.

Flex industrial space.

My garage is three thousand square feet as

well.

Yes.

CrossFit's kind of right.

It's like tithing.

Like CrossFit saved my life.

I pay them back with a garage affiliate

fee.

All right.

So at French.

Pretty stacked women's field.

Kind of stacked men's field.

Any thoughts on...

Who's the top women there?

I'm pulling that up.

Okay.

Oh, Amy's there.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Claudia Gluck.

Almost qualified out of Mayhem.

Yeah.

Fuliano.

Jennifer Muir.

Now, Moistness was pulled out of WFP,

so I don't know if she's dealing with

an injury.

Eileen Wurtz or whatever that is,

she also has an injury, so she's out.

But you still have McGonigal.

Yeah, Caratalla.

Garness, Miravon Roar.

That's a strong field.

Rebecca Vitteson.

Reese Littlewood.

Geez.

So Sierra.

Van Thurman-Mo is good too.

Yep.

You have Var Thurman-Mo.

It's really, really stacked.

Yeah, that's a good field.

Yes, Mayha already qualified for that.

Yes, Mayha.

Leah Storen.

Yeah, that's a good field.

So where is this being broadcast?

Please tell me.

YouTube, I believe.

Okay, thank goodness.

French normally puts it on YouTube.

Okay.

This one's going to be exciting to watch.

Very.

That's a very good field.

Yeah.

And they get three spots, right?

Three?

Yep.

So just off the cuff,

my picks for this week in the women,

three spots, right?

Yep.

Amy Kringle.

Yep.

Elisa Fuliano.

And Reese Littlewood.

Garness.

Garness is in there for sure.

Is the programming all out for this,

isn't it?

We can look at that too.

Yeah, I would need to know.

Miriam.

Miriam.

Yeah.

Are there ring muscle ups?

I'm going to go... I forgot about Miriam.

Holy cow.

No, they don't have them.

I'm going to go Amy Kringle,

Matilda Garnes, and Miriam.

I think there's going to... Yeah,

that's a tough...

I think Claudia could be close.

Actually, I want to change one of mine.

I think Miriam is going to make it.

If there's no ring muscle ups,

I think she's in.

There is no ring muscle ups.

There you go.

Insane.

Manon's not making it.

No.

Washed.

And then the men is Catullus,

Brian Guillaume, Callum Clemens,

Colin Bosshard, Enrico Zanoni,

Fabian Benito Celis,

George Scaravis, Harry Lightfoot,

Jason Hopper, Moritz Fiebig,

Toby Buckland.

Mika.

Victor Langdahl.

I think Harry, Jason, Moritz.

Unless there's injuries that I don't know

about.

What do you think?

Jason, Harry.

I don't know enough about Kalem Clements.

Yeah.

How's Helsinghoff been looking?

I don't know.

Oh, Sven Gienz.

This might be his shot, guys.

This might be his shot.

Toby Buckland.

Yeah, I don't know.

It's too bad that the semifinals,

like this weekend, that there was none.

Some of ours have three at the same

time.

It's just too bad that it doesn't line

up,

that some of these big ones get spread

out.

This one's only that one, right,

that weekend?

Mm-hmm.

There could have been one of the major

ones this weekend.

And then the following weekend,

there's what, Torian?

Yep.

Yep.

Does Jason get booed?

No, I don't think he does.

I don't think he does.

I actually think people will be excited.

That's tough to say.

I can see people's frustration,

but I also think fans will like to

see him there.

Yeah.

We were talking to Leto on the lunch

show.

She's so excited to get to watch Jason

live.

Because they don't get that opportunity

very often, right?

Is she competing Masters there?

She is.

Okay.

So if she gets her spot online,

she's competing.

It's the one that comes first, right?

So her online ticket would count,

and then she would be competing there but

not counting as a spot.

Correct.

You are correct.

But she won't know the result of the

online until after the French match.

Oh,

so that's interesting because maybe the

French one gets confirmed first and then

she becomes,

that one is her spot and then doesn't

count for the online.

It's what everyone gets confirmed first.

Yeah.

So because this week and then you is

next week,

she's going to know from French before she

knows from the online.

I feel like they'd have to take it

from French.

I think they'll take it from French.

Yeah.

I think that's fine.

Yeah, that's fine.

You can't get the top three people in

person.

That's fine.

And then she has the online as her

backup if needed.

That's dumb.

CrossFat,

what's dumb is putting the in-affiliate

semifinal in the middle of the season.

There's no need for it to be here.

put it at the end with the elites

agreed i on freaking mother's day weekend

yeah on mother's day weekend trying to get

people to show up for you on a

mother's day weekend two people and for

those of you dogging my toby buckland pick

he's a clydesdale i gotta go with the

clydesdale

I don't think he's making it, Scott.

But I do have to tell you,

Mathilde looked awesome at WFP.

She did.

She looked unreal.

Imagine having, like,

the SEC tournament in the middle of a

college basketball season.

Then the rest of the conference schedule.

That's pretty much it.

So CrossFit needs CrossFat to just put

analogies over the top of their thoughts

before they make them public.

The masters are going at French.

They are doing it a different way than

the US ones have done.

Only ten masters are getting in from each

age group.

and three go to the games on the

lower age groups.

Wow.

I think that should be two go.

I like the ten.

I think that's the smart way to do

it.

Ten.

Get your top ten in the area there,

but I think they should probably only get

two spots.

Yeah, I think for us,

wasn't there a rule there needs to be

at least three times the amount of spots?

Nine would have been the minimum,

which is crazy low for three spots.

If you guaranteed me

one through ten at the in-person semi take

the three spots i'm cool with it throw

down with the ten best i'm cool with

it yeah but you know that's not gonna

happen i know i'm just telling you for

future thoughts yeah fair um

So, thirty-five to forty-four, get three.

Forty-five to fifty-four, get two.

Fifty-five up, get one.

Do you know, do they all have ten?

Or do they drop ten?

I believe so.

Okay.

Are they doing the thirty-fives?

Are they doing the same workouts as the

individuals?

Or are they modified?

I haven't seen.

That's fine.

Good luck to the legal.

Yeah.

CrossFit loves Mother's Day, Memorial Day,

and Easter.

Sure do.

They really do.

You know why?

Because other entities don't schedule

venues on the holiday weekends,

so CrossFit gets them for cheap.

Now,

why they did an affiliate on a holiday,

there's no venue associated with that,

makes no sense to me.

Looking forward to seeing if the crowd is

big there.

So far, Mayhem had a great turnout.

Legends was not a good turnout.

Magic City, meh.

And Culpasur had a pretty good turnout

from what I've seen.

WFP, no.

And then looking forward to seeing if the

French throwdown finally gets...

the regular crowd that we feel like

normally gets in Europe.

I know Torian's going to be like,

that's always packed.

I would bet French is packed.

The couple of times we have been in

at the French other than last year,

which was right after the twenty four

season.

It has been packed.

I would bet packed.

Yeah, I would do.

I hope so.

Yes, Denise,

I do know that if you don't have

three athletes in the older divisions,

they don't get a game spot.

Correct.

Factor of three per spot, yes.

Every age division.

Last thing for you tonight is a quick

news bit.

If you did not watch all of Dave

Castro's athlete interviews,

there is an interview with Lucy Campbell

where –

seems to basically confirm they are

starting Thursday in a location that the

public will not have access to.

Yeah.

So like when he was talking to Lucy,

she asked him the question about the,

what is it called?

The outdoor events that he had mentioned,

like the couple.

And then he said to expect to use

around the venue,

but that their stuff that the, the,

fans can see and then there's stuff that

the fans may not be able to see

and he goes we have publicly said that

you know the friday to the sunday would

be where the public could see so it

pretty much to me confirmed that they're

starting on thursday or wednesday who

knows maybe it's on thursday but that the

public probably won't be able to go

Is it the ranch or Moffett Field?

I feel like it's something with either a

military base or something that people

can't go and watch, or it's the ranch.

Are they bringing masters to the ranch,

too?

Hell no.

We can't even get into the SAP arena.

True.

We're a mile down the road.

The population of Masters athletes would

probably be bigger than what they are

zoned for at the ranch.

That has been a problem with using the

ranch for other events.

It is not zoned for a big event.

We get two t-shirts for three-day

competitions and...

One tight, one short.

One pair of shorts.

And you have to wear them the whole

weekend.

Get in the ice bath, deal with it.

Yeah,

until the lettering's falling off because

they've been washed so much.

That's what we get.

They're bringing the Masters to the

Western-themed steakhouse called The Ranch

for a blue plate special.

One sock.

Yeah, one sock.

Pretty much.

I'll have my car if anyone needs a

ride.

Yeah.

Yeah.

The one pair of shorts will either be

gigantic or offensively small.

Jamie will take the offensively small and

Carolyn will take the gigantic.

You won't be able to see much of

it because it'll be behind Paywall Flow

Elite.

Yeah.

Man, I hope they drop that.

I don't think so.

Why are you saying that?

Well,

I think it's good for the sport in

general.

I don't think we should be behind Paywall,

but I don't like what's going on with

that situation.

know that i cannot confirm any of that

stuff and it was pulled from the spin

just so you know just because someone

writes something doesn't mean it's true

true no but if you go on flowly

it it has the masters crossfit games there

no no there is a story out there

right now about something flow elite did

years ago

Oh, I haven't seen that.

And there are threats of cancellation and

all this stuff.

I cannot confirm that story.

Any way, anyhow,

I have been researching for three days

trying to find any validity to that story.

And it was posted by The Spin on

Friday morning.

And it was pulled Friday afternoon from

The Spin.

Interesting.

So don't always believe what you see just

because you see it.

So there it is.

If you can find it,

send it to me because I cannot find

it.

I don't really want to Google that on

my phone.

Well,

the article itself is just reporting the

news.

Yeah, I know.

The thing in question is that there was

a link.

Right.

I think that's doubt.

I would say that you're not going to

find that.

Plus, it happened fourteen years ago.

You shouldn't be able to find it.

I'm sure she...

I'm sure McKayla Maroney was able to get

some legal action and get it scrubbed from

the internet.

Savon found it on a show the other

night.

I'm not saying that someone didn't put

something out there, but it is removed.

Whatever is out there, I cannot find it.

Well, good.

It should be removed.

There should be no...

Ed wants to know,

you're telling me the internet lied to us.

I'm telling you I can't find it.

I tried using ChatGPT.

I tried using Google.

I tried everything I could to find it.

And I didn't want to talk about it

unless I could find it.

Yeah, fair.

I'm not searching it, so.

No, thanks.

I just wanted to see if I could

find the article and see if it had

a hyperlink.

And then what?

Click on the link?

No, thank you.

No,

I wasn't going to click on the link.

It's going to be gone.

That is not going to be findable.

I have no idea what any of you

guys are talking about,

but it sounds really serious.

It's really serious.

And I don't want to look it up

because it's telling me I shouldn't be

looking it up from my home address.

It's underage images.

So it's the gymnast Michaela Maroney.

Apparently Larry Nassar took pictures of

her when she was underage.

The convicted doctor took pictures of her

when she was underage.

Flow Gymnastics posted an article

allegedly telling that story.

It happened.

And allegedly there was a link in the

body of the article that went to the

pictures,

which I find highly hard to believe that

anybody would let that pass through any

kind of stuff.

i know but but everybody is reacting to

this story like it's true i just wanted

to see if the article even exists i

would guess it does not exist anymore well

spin posted a picture of the article but

again all of that has been pulled

And I don't know why he pulled it.

There was no retraction about it.

Yeah, I know.

Don't bring up Michigan State in relation,

please.

So I don't, again,

I don't know why it was pulled.

But that made me very suspect of its

validity if SPIN is pulling it down.

Cause spin doesn't usually pull down a

story because a couple of people complain.

Right.

So, well, either way,

not a fan of flow late.

So I don't think it's good for our

sport regardless of any.

And you and I are going to disagree

about that.

Cause I do think a paywall with other

sports on its app does make sense to

try to grow it.

And if we don't support the ecosystem some

way, it's going to go away.

They need to find a way to have

like a weekend price,

not a subscription price.

That's what I don't like about the Flow

Elite.

I just don't even think Flow Elite's a

good one.

It's not.

It needs to be a weekend price of,

you know, I don't know, five ninety nine,

nine ninety nine, something like that.

It needs to be like Rogues broadcast.

Yeah.

Yeah.

People want to be on YouTube.

They want to be able to chat.

And they can monetize on YouTube too.

There you go.

But just because people like it today

doesn't mean it's what's best for the

sport in the future.

You need revenue from other sources if you

want the sport to survive.

That's what it is.

If I want to watch any other sport,

I have to pay for an app.

Any other sport.

It's just a fact.

So.

I just feel like the masters,

like I think they would be more worth

it.

Not more worth it,

but like people would pay more for the

individuals to pay like.

Thirty dollars to watch the same heat for

the whole day is.

Not that fun.

So I believe that if you're going to

jump into Flow Elite,

the whole semifinal season should be on

Flow Elite,

and then it's worth the app price.

I agree with that.

And then it's all in the same place,

and you can charge a good chunk for

that.

And people would pay.

As event organizers or as CrossFitter or

whatever.

Yeah,

because then you're actually getting a

bunch of different things with it.

Will the sport ever get big enough to

need that?

Well,

the sport's just going to shrivel away if

there's no money to support it.

I've talked to event organizers in person.

They are struggling.

They're struggling to put these events on.

If we have nobody,

because CrossFit is gone completely

hands-off,

and if the event organizers back out,

then where are you?

I'm going to say it.

I think a lot of these events have

promised too much money to the athletes

and then have just needed to raise the

prices for everything.

And they just don't have the budget for

it.

We promise like,

because we're trying to make it

professional, a lot of comms are like,

well, I need to pay the athletes,

five thousand, ten thousand.

And then everything's just getting so

expensive.

And like, yeah,

I like it as an athlete to make

that money,

but I don't think that the organizer,

like the organizers just keep losing

money.

They don't have that much money coming in

to be giving the athletes all the money.

Everybody knows I talked to Wilson Pac.

He is about as frugal as it comes

when putting together events.

He tries to save money wherever he can.

It is a struggle.

It's a struggle.

And the last two seasons have not been

great.

If the prices were lower for people to

buy tickets,

if more people would be in there

supporting the athletes,

if the cost of registration for the

athletes was lower.

Yeah,

it brings the price purse a little bit,

but I think it would fill up more

and then you get more sponsorships and

then you get more people that buy into

it.

But right now,

everything is so expensive with an empty

stadium.

We've brought up the prices too much and

promised too much

to the athletes and like,

I'm not complaining because it's a way

that people can make money and,

and revenue.

But I just think like, I don't know.

Things have gone too expensive.

All right.

Well, with that guys,

it's been fun as always.

Love you all.

Thank you so much for being here tonight.

We appreciate you.
